Installation and configuration

Confirm the exact BA/BF/FG/FG-X engine, inlet/exhaust camshaft identity and VCT hardware before installation.
Measure valve-to-piston, spring coil-bind, retainer-to-seal and other valvetrain clearances on the actual engine.
Check hydraulic lash-adjuster preload, timing-chain and cam-gear condition, and verify the camshaft timing and ECU calibration.
The inlet and exhaust camshafts are separate purchases. A turbo inlet profile must not be substituted for the normally aspirated inlet merely because the part numbers are similar.
The supplier requires a compatible performance spring-and-retainer package, appropriate exhaust and induction upgrades and an ECU tune. Automatic applications require a converter matched to the stated operating range.
