Installation and configuration
- Confirm the exact BA/BF/FG/FG-X engine, inlet/exhaust camshaft identity and VCT hardware before installation.
- Measure valve-to-piston, spring coil-bind, retainer-to-seal and other valvetrain clearances on the actual engine.
- Check hydraulic lash-adjuster preload, timing-chain and cam-gear condition, and verify the camshaft timing and ECU calibration.
- The inlet and exhaust camshafts are separate purchases. A turbo inlet profile must not be substituted for the normally aspirated inlet merely because the part numbers are similar.
- The supplier lists standard springs for this mild profile subject to condition and clearance checks. Confirm the correct tune and any application-specific exhaust or converter requirements.
